Re: Clean or replace your own cabin filter, improve air flow & save a bundle

I was quoted $90.00 to have the cabin air filter replaced because it would take an hour. Following this thread and taking my time, I paid $39 for the filter and installed it in seven minutes (Timed by my trusty Timex). Had I known about the $12 dollar Micron version of the filter, I would have saved even more!

I would love to buy the next one locally and save the trouble of ordering and the cost of shipping.

it looked similar to the same one in my 99 Accord, except I think my accord took two of them.

Micron is the same company that makes the OEM ones I believe.

Great! That's why I made this thread. I thought the flat rate to do this simple job was obscene.

Re: Clean or replace your own cabin filter, improve air flow & save a bundle

Thanks for the post. Mine is overdue for replacement. I just did the one on my wife's 2003 Pilot. The element was $14.00 at Advance Auto Parts. On her Pilot, I had to cut the dash plastic to install it. That is part of the procedure.

Even if it is part of the procedure, that sent a chill up my spine to think about it.

I wanna know about the second glovebox cover you have. It says RIDGELINE on it. Did you make it yourself or buy it?

This was mentioned on prior posts. This product was offered by a former vendor here, Basickoncepts. If you follow the link provided, the item no longer exsists on his website.

Regrettably I don't think you can still get the dash plate cover. I'm glad we got ours. Hit 5S Dude up about them. He's been considering making a metal one for us which will undoubtedly be an even better product.

Here's the link to the BasicKoncepts one I have:
