Danvers Mass 2008 Mini Meet at the Car Show!!

Ok, ok... I'm getting info that people really want these monthly meets to happen. Unfortunately, I have another commitment on Wednesday nights and this was looking like a no go. Until a faithful ROCer insisted I carry through with the meets even if I can't make them all... Below are the meet details. I'll also add a post below for each date we intend to meet. Just post that you are coming or send me a PM and I'll edit each Date to include a list of those intending to join us... Of course you can just show up but making some sort of a commitment gives others who might be traveling a good distance an idea of which date will have the most ROCers for a meet...



2008 Monthly Mini Meets
"ROCers, Hot Dogs, Hot Rods and Ice Cream"

Come on out you New England ROCers for a few hours of chit chat as we take in the Danvers Police Car Show.

Meet between 5:30-6:30 (show till 8pm)
Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot
Liberty Tree Mall
Danvers Massachusetts

*Rain Dates will be handled on a month to month basis according to local forecasts. In some cases, the show gets moved to the next night, Thursday. Or if rain is forecasted for Thursday as well, we would look at the next week...

I'll be in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods, which is right in the mall property. It's a good visible lot. Drive around the mall and you can't miss it. Anyway, I'll be there about 5:30pm. Will hang out till about 6:30 and then venture over to the show. The show is free to walk in... I believe $5 if you want to park in the lot and show your vehicle.

Nice little get together to start off the summer meets.
As expected, Sully beat me to the meet spot accompanied by his father-in-law, a regular at meets with Sully and a great guy.
The bonus of the night was the arrival of new ROCer CLSMITH! Nice surprise to have yet another local just drop by. He arrived in style in his sharp silver '08 RTX. It was nice to get a tour of an '08 as I hadn't seen the sweet seats the '08 RTX comes with. He also was kind enough to show off his sub case which I know within a few meets from now will only be a small piece of a rocking audio system he's working on.
The weather held up long enough to talk truck for about an hour before the clouds rolled in, the rains started to fall, the wind picked up and the temp dropped what felt like 20 degrees...
We never did get over to see the Car Show as the weather started scaring away to cars...
Overall a very nice time. Hopefully in the coming months we can build up the numbers.

June meet was a Solo meet...
Wednesday, June 25th
Well, unfortunately only rtlsully showed up this month. Kind of a shame really with so many local ROCers, such great weather and such a top notch display of cars at the show. July may also be a wash if no one shows any interest. But as for August, I suspect this night will rival some of the full meets we've had over the past couple years. I will send out reminders as we approach August. This meet should be on your radar as it will be a good one. No excuses, you have plenty of time to work this one in.

If there is one monthly meet to attend this summer, it's this one. Pizza Man is planning on coming up from PA to join us and he may be bringing his posse (ONDLINKS and mdwalls). This will be an extra special meet. So please, if your thinking of making one of these meets, make it this one!!

Long drive for such a short meet Joe. I told another ROCer that thought Wednesday night was tough that maybe another Weekend meet is in order.
If you really think you want to come up this way, I will absolutely help you with finding accommodations. At the same time, maybe with the assistance of my favorite Rhode Island ROCer who has great swinging seats on the back of his truck, we can plan something in the RI or CT area on a weekend...

Those seats are really something. The mysterious "he" set them up for us at the Mystic Seaport meet.
