Cascade meet

I know I am from California, but what with Mount Shasta being a part of the cascades I consider myself to be in the pacific northwest. I am only about 90 miles from the Oregon border and Portland is only 404 miles away. I am hoping to get a cascade meet going, it would be Washington, Oregon and the Far Northern California members. I figure that if an all cal roc meet included members from San Diego in the south to me here in McKinleyville in the north that a cascade meet would involve about the same mile spread . I did 921.1 miles round trip and a San Diego member did 921 roundtrip to Santa Cruz and back that Portland seemed to be a good central location to meet. Please keep in mind that it should be a central location for the ease of travel.

Re: Cascade meet

Hey Gadgetz, I will let you know when this can be arranged, this is the second time I have tried to get a meet going, the first time was for an Oregon meet and I had few responses. In May on the 26 or 27th will be the second central cal meet at Mount Diablo in the S F bay area, you may be interested in that one too. I think that the cascade meet may be a winter or early spring meet. I am open.

Re: Cascade meet

Martin, if we have it too early in the year, there is always the possiblity of nasty weather in the Siskiyous for anyone coming north. What's your thoughts on that?

Re: Cascade meet

Considering where I live here in Humboldt county , we have high mountains and canyons to the north, south and east and a large ocean to the west. It is not unusual for us to get trapped here. I do want to get the experience of driving in the snow so I may try my rl up in the local hills soon to see how I do. I think that March or April would do fine though, never can tell what kind of winter it will turn out to be.
