What's even more interesting is that the 2008 Accord now has more hp than the 2008 Acura TL 268 vs 258. I guess Honda is trying to kill off the Acura brand since it appears they don't want to play with the big boys at Lexus and Infinity in this segment.

The TL and MDX have been the life blood at Acura for a while now. The new MDX looks to be a winner. The RL has never done well since they changed the name from the Legend. They are killing the RSX and the RDX, while pretty cool tech wise, rides like a skate board on railroad tracks.

268 hp in an Accord?!? We really are living in an automotive golden age.
When I was a teenager in the mid to late seventies my exposure to muscle cars was reading car magazines lamenting their death.
With the double whammy of gas lines and emission controls it seems every new car they tested was slower & less powerful than the previous years model.
In fact the base 79 vette only had 195 hp & this was with the 350.
It was no torque monster either with less than 300 lb-ft. The L-82 vette had 225 hp but slightly less torque.
I guess what I'm saying is I like the new Accord. In fact considering what I thought we would be driving in the new millennium I'm downright giddy.
