JackRabbit Series by Pace Edwards

This thread will be dedicated to the JackRabbit Series. Here is a flyer discussing the benifits and features of the JackRabbit Series retractable bed covers.

Thanks,

Eric

Re: JackRabbit Series by Pace Edwards

Hello Eric,

I'm sold! I ordered one from RealTruck.com. Can't wait to install it. Hopefully I will have it installed for the upcoming All ROC Meet II in Santa Cruz.

Go to this link and on the Import tab select Honda. That should do it. Currently, RealTruck has an instant rebate on the cover so, that should save you a hundred bucks plus free shipping. They do charge a handling fee of $29.95. Hope this helps. I would call RealTruck to see if there are any offers for ROC members; they are very nice to deal with.

Yes, they are. And they offer a ROC member discount as well.

I am wondering if Auto Anything will support ROCers? For The Full Metal jack Rabbit? I will have to look into that one!

Re: JackRabbit Series by Pace Edwards

I have read many tonneau posts and have whittled down the list to three covers. Retrax (about $1000), PE jackrabbit (about $800) , PE Full metal jackrabbit (about $1150). I don't see a big discriminator between the three, so it comes down to price.
Interestingly, I am hung up on the old style jackrabbit. I cannot find any discussion about why the old style was not adequate. The company does not really sell the advantages of the FMJ either.

For a difference of $350 it is worth knowing the difference between the tops.

Is there anyone that has owned the jackrabbit? Any problems that the FMJ is designed to resolve?

One big difference you will find with FMJ is the cover is metal instead of plastic. I'm not sure which one last longer but I bought the FMJ. I received my tracking information today so it should arrive soon.

The Full Metal JackRabbit is a newer version of the original JackRabbit. The only difference is the standard JackRabbit uses a fabric/panel blanket assembly while the FMJ uses an all metal blanket assembly.

The advantages of the FMJ is a stronger design and able to hold much more weight. It also does not have a vinyl covering that may fade or tear over time.

The both use the same rail(track) systems, same canister housing and have the same features & benifits.

The standard JackRabbit is still a quality cover, but for the extra money the FMJ is a nicer cover.

Our website also talks about the advantages of the FMJ starting with the main home page and in further detail on the FMJ page and/or the Cover Comparision sheet. www.paceedwards.com

I hope that helps.

Eric

Re: JackRabbit Series by Pace Edwards

Okay folks, I just got my cover last night. I did not have time to unpack and install it...late night at work. If things go well, I should have my cover installed this evening and I will share my pics. Stay tuned!!!
