Alignment Issues Covered by Warranty

Are any alignment issues covered by warranty? I just got my truck back from a 4 wheel alignment because it was pulling to the right, and these were the technicians notes:

ROAD TESTED AND FOUND THE TRUCK PULLS TO THE RT AND THESE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT CENTERED. CHECKED TIRE PRESSURES AND PREFORMED A ALIGNMENT. ADJUSTED THE FT TOE TO GET STEERING CENTERED ROAD TEST AND FOUND IT STILL DRIFTS TO THE RT BUT NOT AS BAD. NEED TO ROTATE THE TIRES TO TOTALLY ELIMINATE THE PULL.

You'd think cause its says the steering wheel is no centered it would be a warranty thing. I can see not all alignments being covered because people could be smoking curbs and bringing in the trucks 4 times a year, but if the steering wheel is crooked it must have been done at the factory.

Re: Alignment Issues Covered by Warranty

You said they did the alignment. Did they charge you for it?

If so how old is the truck? How many miles? Alignment is not a normal warranty process... it's an adjustment. Honda has cracked down on alignment issues. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think the latest guidelines are that alignment issues must be reported within 3 months or 3,000 miles of purchase to be covered.

Re: Alignment Issues Covered by Warranty

Hi, Just incase you might be developing this...Hopefully not... My truck began pulling to the right accompanied with the steering being off center after about 2k miles. Shortly after it developed a thunk felt in the steering wheel when turning one direction then the other- (significantly more than our 99 Ody with 90k miles) There was a TSB regarding a couple bolts retaining the steering gear. That didnt didnt turn out to be the problem, rather they found that there was an unadjustable out of spec amount of backlash between the rack and pinion gears. They did replace the steering rack about 3k miles ago, with no issues to report.

I had started off a previous note when I first had the problem with mine with a comment about "we all know about factory alignments.....etc" (based on my previous experiance with several other makers) and I was was told and learned that Honda is well regarded to have outstanding factory alignments- so I would expect yours to hopefully still be good barring something else out of the ordinary

Re: Alignment Issues Covered by Warranty

15000 km and I've had the truck since October 2005. I've never really felt the pull to the right until I let me gf take the truck a few months ago and she noticed it was pulling
