The dealer could not recreate the issue at the dealership (of course) but they replaced the antannae feeder cable anyway. This did not solve the problem, in fact, it is probably worse. What do you know of this issue and which path should I lead the service guys down?
Thanks!
The only issues we have ever seen with AM reception are the bad feeder cable for the antenna. For the Ridgelines, you have to order an entire dashboard harness, and swap the feeder cable from the new harness to the existing harness. This issue is still under investigation at Honda.

ever installed one?
I think the back-up camera is a cool feature... but installing one is a nightmare. It is the most involved accessory that Honda makes for the ridge line. Very costly to install, and IMO, not worth the money. But if you really want one, set up an appointment with your dealer and have it done. It'll take all day. This is def not a do it yourself job.

Re: Honda Tech and Ridge owner here to help.

I'm having constant issues w/ my R/L pulling to the left.
It has been in the dealer numerous times (aligned and re-aligned, tires rotated and rebalanced) for this and still does it.
They tell me it's because of the crown in the road, but even on the right side of the crown it pulls only slightly to the left, sometime it will tract straight on this side of the crown. Why would it not pull to the right if it follows the crown in the road?
Is this common to the Ridgelines?
I am seriously considering lemon lawing it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bob

WHOA! 40+ posts already.

Ok, Mr.Tech, I brought my Ridge in for the fuel relay recall and the service guys didn't touch it as they say that I fall outside of the VIN range. But the relay is the MITSUBA relay, I knew it was before I took it in and even the service writer visually confirmed that it was. Any insight on this?

My guess is that MITSUBA had a few good batches of relays and that is what I have in my truck.

Thanks

Ridgelines seem to be very sensitive to road crown. I just aligned mine at work today because the steering wheel wasn't perfectly level (it was close, and i'm really picky). If the road is crowned to the right... it should drift right. Left, it should drift left. I say drift, not pull. Drift is minor and gradual. It might take 3 or 5 seconds before you need to correct it. Pull is much stronger... almost immediatly requiring correction. I would suggest that you take the truck back in and go for a ride with the service manager. Most likely, when you took it in before, the tech drove it and didn't see a need to align anything. I would be surprised if your RL was ever on the alignment rack. Most techs don't care about picky complaints that are under warranty. It sucks, because it gives the good ones a bad reputation.

Yes, there were some Mitsuba relays that were considered good or "countermeasured" as Honda terms it. If your RL did not fall into the VIN range, then they will do only what they did... inspect it and not replace anything.

If you are really really concerned about it... you could buy the relay yourself and install it. It can't cost more than a couple bucks. I think that it is completly fine... and you will never have a problem with it the way it is.

First let me say thanks for the rapid response.
Service Mgr. and tech. both rode with me. Said they had to order part to compensate the pulling to the left, some bolt or something. I also showed them that I had a steering wheel issue like you did (wasn't level slightly to the right) I got it back and it still pulls but now steering wheel is tilted to the left. so it looks to me anyway they tried to align it (again) but it still isn't fixed.

I have not repaired any of the water leak stricken RL's yet. I would hope that the countermeasures are working and in place. I don't want mine to leak.

Re: Honda Tech and Ridge owner here to help.

Hi HondaTech, good to have your input.
My minor problem...my sunroof (06 RTL) visor seems to rattle at times over bad roads. If i press on the headliner along the sides where the guide railings for the visor to slide along are, the rattling stops. If the visor is slid all the way back, sound stops. also, as soon as the sunroof is opened, even just an inch or so, the rattle stops. not completely convinced its the visor, but it seems so. do u have any ideas as to the cause? Thanks in advance!
