Thumbs up Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I have had my RL since July/05,
No water leaks
No rattles
No issues with the radio
Creaky steering wheel was fixed under warranty
other then regular maintenance as per The Maintenance Minder the only other expense was $100.00 to replace the fuse box for auto door unlock issue(which isn't an issue any more after Sept/05 manufacturing date)
No other mechanical or electrical problems. NONE!
Now, I have had my share of problems with the dealerships where they scratched my truck while it was in for service but as for the truck, it is the best and the safest vehicle I have ever owned.

I hope you didn't feel offended by my post. Definately not intended to be offensive.

There are less expensive hitches available for the Ridgeline, and if you only need/want the 4 flat, there are some that have just installed them instead of Honda's wiring harness. You can find a lot of info on this forum.

I have the Honda tow package. I didn't know about this forum before buying mine, but I did call a local U Haul about a hitch. They had no idea what a Ridgeline was, and said there was no listing for it. I found out he was wrong after I already had the dealer install it before I took delivery.

Good Luck with whatever you choose to do, and keep us posted on your final decision.

Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I have had my truck just over a year now and have no regrets at all. I will buy another one sometime. If the hitch is an issue you could look for a RTX. It already has the hitch installed.

Talking Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I owned a May 30th 2006 purchased Ridgeline Smurf Blue! Yes, i would buy again. Why? I have not had any problems with rattles or wind noise or any of the MAJOR concerns you seem to be concerned about. no leaks here. No radio static, but i do Listen to XM 24/7 also. So, i never listen to FM/AM.
And the other Reason, The main reason, My cousin is the Finance Manager at the HONDA OF OAKLAND, California. Yes, A DEAL in deed!

Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I have an 07 RTL w/o nav. My last truck was an F-150. I've had it since February. I have 4200 miles on it. I know that's not much, but if it keeps up the way it has treated me so far...honestly, I would not go back to Ford. No leaks, creaks, squeeks or rattles. No static in the radio. I'm in northern Ohio and this thing kicks butt in the snow. Hauled a 16 foot box trailer the other day...didn't even know it was there. Overall, great truck!!!

Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I have a Black RTS that I picked up 2 weeks ago. I have not had any problems. Since picking it up, we have had rain and cold and this past weekend the sun finally came out so I had it washed and through the rain and the car wash have had no leaks and it is one of the quietest trucks I have owned and I have driven nothing but trucks for over 30 years. Very pleased so far. This is also my first Honda. All my other trucks were Chevy. This was a hard decision for me being from the automotive midwest, but so far I really like this truck.

No problems with my 2007 RTS, either.

The majority of the time one never hears about good things, or when people are happy, but the bad experiences seem numerous. (Check out the media outlets!)

Re: Thought I was ready, but you stopped me dead in my tracks

I have an 07 RTL Silver with Nav and I have found no issues with mine thus far.
I have hand washed, power washed, car lot washed and no leaks. It rides smooth, plenty of room. I am very pleased with the way my dealer takes care of me after the sale. Would I buy another one, yep.. "IF" I have to say something not in a negative way but a wishful way is the bed is not as deep as my previous truck with the tonneau cover. BUT.. the lockable hidden trunk makes up for it. RIDE TO LIVE... LIVE TO RIDE..

I am (was?) inches from pulling the trigger on a 07 RTL (red, no navi), but I've got some serious concerns now - the leak thing is right at the top.

Consistent posts about rattles, static on radios, and hidden expenses force me to reconsider my Honda-takes-care-of-you assumption (My familiy has owned nothing but honda/accura for 10+ years)...I realize that the first model year is always dangerous, but we're past that now. I also realize a lot of the threads were started in 05, but I also see recent entries that indicate problems are not going away...At the same time you guys/gals seem to love your trucks.

I need to hear from some '07 owners and your experiences, pro and con, and have a direct question for all you '05 and '06 owners: "Would you buy it again? Why?"

Talk me back into it...

RossC
My Ridge turned 2 yesterday. It has had seen some rugged use but hasn't had any issues. Of course I'd buy another one. I will not talk you back into
it as you seem to have some anal perception.

Ok: you read this thread, I hope, and We would like to hear back from you about, what you are thinking/ Yes Or No.

I have my 06 RTS for one year and only one problem with a rear taillight going bad, and dealer replaced it under the warranty.
I leased it and with buy it or lease another.
