Re: $140 to change Cabin filter ???? Aftermarket ??

That's obscene and ridiculous. I hope no one gets suckered that bad. How dare they even say that to a customer? I'm happy with our service department, but this kind of overcharge will keep me leery about their "labor" charges.

Re: $140 to change Cabin filter ???? Aftermarket ??

at dealer today for intermediate service. requested replace cabin air filter and was quoted $140. I objected, turned down the offer (nicely of course) and service writer counter offered the filter installed for $36. seemed reasonable at that price so it was done. point is: service writers have a great deal of discretion on these items and honey seems to work better than vinegar to acheive desired result.

Point is that they tried to sucker you in for $104. I would never trust that dealer again. If $36 is a reasonable price then it should have been the first price quoted. The next time you may not realize you are being had.

Re: $140 to change Cabin filter ???? Aftermarket ??

Why not just buy a home A/C filter for $1.59 ..cut it to size and have enough material left to change it out 5 more times???????

Ur right of course, thats why I always check ROC before any work anywhere on my Ridge. I knew going in what the quote would be and what the alternatives were. So...good on ya ROC

$9.95 US is a pretty darn good price.
If you don't feel like dealing with Ebay, I got mine from Rock Auto. I bought two (one for my truck, one for my wife's Accord - they use the same filter) and the total was $25 including shipping. It was exactly the same filter as what came with the truck.

Which reminds me, I need to check and see how dirty that thing is by now . . .
