I'll be taking the Ridge into the dealer next week. I'll be sure to post what transpires. It's little things that bother me about my particular Ridge. I've had quirks and irks since day one. Runs well...love the truck....but I was kind of hoping not to have rust on an 08 yet I know the paint is relatively thin compared to older cars, but has the paint process gone down the tubes as well? I had a 99 Civic that I traded in with a 150000 miles and not one spec of rust. I don't know....I'll let everyone know. Thanks guys.

Re: Rust concern on my 08 RTX

Well...I made one trip to the dealership and the head service manager was not in, so I left my pics with the service person there, and he said he'd check with the management and call me back. I received a call back today, and they told me that they were not concerned and that a couple of the new RLs on the lot had rust in the same spot. I went back and forth and expressed concern over the fact that a truck with 5000 miles on it is rusting already. Personally, I am not a happy camper. He then said I should make an appointment with the manager, so he could see it in person and make a call then. I asked him to document it and he did. At this point, I'm not sure how far to pursue this....any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
James

Whoa... that's much worse than what I saw on mine. That would concern me as well. I only had what could have been bolt rust sitting on top of the paint.

Not to fan any flames, but I would not accept that kind of rust as "normal" for any kind of mileage... especially since the Ridge has a rust warranty! Definitely talk to the manager!

I think the next step is to take it directly to the manager ...thanks for the advice. I'm curious...why would this fan any flames...?

I had originally typed a more aggressive comment on the dealer... but since I ddin't have first hand knowledge of what they did/didn't do/say, so I removed it... I just forgot to change the way I started the sentence.

Understandable...I'm going to try to meet with the manager first....hopefully that works...if not, I'll try something else.
