Rattling from dash

Hi, just got my 06 RTL on Saturday. This morning I noticed a rattling ocming from the dash or possibly the windshield area, only when going over bumps. It was not there before. Coincidently, we had a huge thunderstorm last night... probably doesn't mean anything but you never know.
Anyone have a similar problem?

Re: Rattling from dash

Try tightening the clip in the visor (driver and/or passenger). The clip that can be turned is the piece that snaps into the holder and can rotate forward or backward. Good luck.

Re: Rattling from dash

I also have a rattling from the dash. I found where it was coming from.
It's when the glove door in closed. The fit is a little to tight when it's closed. I tried to fix it, by bending the latch (the U shape one) to make is tighter and then lose, but it didn't work. I sprayed silcone oil on the sides on door and it did work for one day. I'm going to tried to align the door, and if that doesn't work, I will have to go to the dealer. There is a thread about rattling from the dash, you may found a fix.

Re: Rattling from dash

Could be the dash speaker cover. A little tape on the underside will quiet it.

Re: Rattling from dash

My rattle came from the speaker cover on the dash-driver side...hear it when you drive over a rough road or hit a bump...getting a new cover next week at the dealer...if it comes back, I will try to pop it off and put some tape on it to silence the rattle.

I too was having "Rattling from the Dash Area" after having my truck for about 3 months (build date:05/06). I was not smart enough to look at the ROC for answers, but did find the same remedy as you described.

I guess HONDA did not read the ROC for rattle problems.

Re: Rattling from dash

I've had my RL for only 2 weeks and already had it back at the dealer to fix rattles in the dashboard or A-pillars (I couldn't tell which) on both the left and right side. The dealer said the tweeter cover was rattling and that they "tightened up" the interior molding on the pillars.
Seems to have done the trick, although I was annoyed to have to deal with this in a brand new vehicle.

Re: Rattling from dash

I've had my front dash driver side speaker cover replaced and my driver side visor replaced for rattles...quiet as a church mouse now, and hopefully staying that way!
