excessive wear on cloth seats

I have an 06 Ridgeline with about 13k miles on it and with Olive cloth interior. I'm noticing what I'm calling premature wear on the interior part of the cloth seat(the lighter olive part) Basicly, it seems to be lightly fraying in certain areas. Since I only have a passanger in the truck occasionally, it is only on the driver's seat. It's not real bad yet, but considering the truck is not that old and has low miles, I find it disturbing. Anyone else see this? If you have cloth, check it out......you don't have to look hard, but once you see it, you will know what I mean.

Re: excessive wear on cloth seats

Search the forum...there are other threads already on this issue. I had my seat cover replaced under warranty for the same thing.

Re: excessive wear on cloth seats

I have the same problem on both front seats. The dealer said that they would replace both of them. There is a thread titled "Excessive Wear of Fabric on Front Seats" that addresses this problem. I posted a picture of mine on it.

I can see doing that under certain extreme circumstances, but this should not be happening! 12k miles.....less than 1 yr old......I owned a 94 Civic and when I sold it this year with 217K on it, the cloth seats looked almost new!!!!! I'm also not sure if replacing the covers is the answer here. If they haven't changed material/design, it's just going to happen again and again and again! I'm taking the Ridge in for routine service on Friday......I already called Honda and informed them of the issue......at least it is documented. I suggest ALL fourm members here do the same thing if they are experiencing this issue......and I bet you are to some extent if you have cloth!

Unfortunately, even with a decent camera, I don't think it is going to show up.....again, it is not that bad yet, but considering the age/mileage, it will be at about 36,001 miles!

Re: excessive wear on cloth seats

36,000 + miles in 7 months, I spend 3 + hours daily in my RL, and have no wear issues. Maybe some other factor is involved.

Re: excessive wear on cloth seats

Anyone have any experience with after-market seat-covers? Are there good ones out there for the RL? Like a body-Glove type or something...?
