Wow Gwcpa! That’s a huge ship you’re towing!

Holly Cow Iceman! That last photo looks like a painting you’re standing in front of!

Thank you both for the great pictures.

Hey, iceman, how'd you like your trip to the Grand Canyon state? Have a good time?

I see you have a traveling buddy there. Sadly, all of my current pets hate the car. The cat gets car sick and makes more noise while riding then a wife bitching about you taking the wrong turn. The young dog gets nervous, then shivers, then begins (if we're lucky) vomiting. The old dog is the old dog and traveling is just a bit too rough on her.

It is always awesome to have a four-legged traveling friend. My family used to have one but he was killed back in 2006 by a rattlesnake.

Thanks, but that's not my pic. I was just quoting it. Used to own one like that. My current boat is the same hull and power (F200, think that may be an F225) as Coastline's but not the cabin config.

I am actually quite surprised how well my RL pulls my boat up the ramp.

I'll need to take some pics and add them here.

Please do post your towing photos here!

Do you have to shift to 1st gear and press the VTM-4 Lock button when pulling the boat up the ramp?

Re: Ridgeline's can tow (photos)

When I am coming up the ramp, (or more correctly the miss'es) it's in 1st gear with VTM lock on. Never misses a beat. I have pilled it out on sandy ramps and also grass, it is amazing.

The weight of the boat is 2900 lb, Yamaha F200 583 lb. The trailer is aluminum and the dealer said the trailer was about 900 lb. 80 gals gas @ 6 lb per 480 lb. Totals 4863 lbs. I am sure the rest of my stuff bumps it up to the 5000lb limit. But, I usually do not tow it full, just works out that way.

Mileage towing to the coast is about 8.5 and at 3 bucks a gallon, pretty expensive. Mostly interstate at 65mph.

GWcpa, saw you at GreatGrady.

Cleaning the gutters.

Re: Ridgeline's can tow (photos)

I've got a pretty good ramp. I don't bother with the VTM lock, just put it in D, give it some gas, let off the brake and pull it out. If I dump the throttle hard (done it on purpose to test,) I will spin a front wheel(s) before the rear engages.

I've also got a Tahoe that I pull it with. I don't always bother using the 4wd with it, and it will spin a rear if you give it too much gas until the LTD slip engages. I have had to use 4wd with the Tahoe when I had the trailer backed off the concrete ramp. The tires spun and the Tahoe moved sideways about a foot in 2WD.

I'll take some pics in the spring. Have the boat wrapped up for the winter and it probably won't move until April. I hate winter.

Coastline, yup, post a bunch on GG. I love the 208s. I had a OX66 200 on mine. Probably would still have it if it had an F200. Great motors.

With the cpa in your handle, I am sure you stay busy until mid-April. I use mine on and off all winter on the local lake. Looking forward to April, the coast awaits.

Re: Ridgeline's can tow (photos)

I visited the Airstream factory summer of 07, the lightest thing they manufacture is the "Base Camp" at 2500 lbs. The Base Camp was designed by Nissan so it is NOT a real Airstream! I am restoring a vintage 1960 18' Airstream that ways 2500lbs dry, LESS than the contemorary "Bambi" at 3200lbs. Go figure! Wally Byam, the original creator of Airstream, was making them lighter in 1960 than they are in Jackson Center, OH today.
