And, BTW, what is up with the three mirrors total?
I looked at and test drove the new 4x4 CrewMax Limited 5.7L and at 42,000.00 out the door, I can say it is one huge mother ship of a truck and a whole lotta money. If we we’re towing a 38 foot toy hauler with a sand rail and quads it would be great. As would the new 08 or 09 diesel F150 but the more Cindy and I go camping with our Ridgeline the more we love it. Our Trail Cruiser is 19 feet long and 3750 lbs. and our RL tows it perfectly. We ran last weeks camping trip with three mirrors to see if the Tow & See add on mirrors were worth buying two. They worked awesome!

Re: extended side mirrors for towing??

Hello -- I have been using those inexpensive (around 15.00 each) strap-on mirrors. They vibrate a little bit but were fine for my trip to and from Alaska For a picture of the mirror, truck and trailer see:

www.flickr.com/photos/hiramoto

The first picture shows the mirror on the truck (after clicking the picture, select "different sizes" then "large" size). I also used the "tow and see" mirror which connects by suction and is nice because you can adjust the position of the mirror using your power mirror control, but the objects in the mirror seemed small to me....

Awesome find, especially for $23 each.
I see you chose the convex style...do you think it works better than the flat style?

That’s a very good question JA, I have no idea how the flat unit would look as I based my purchase on holding a large stick on convex mirror out the window while our trailer was hooked up in a auto parts parking lot. Whenever I get motivated I’d also like to mount the VR3 Wireless Backup Camera to the rear of our trailer to see who’s tailgating me…

For towing mirrors, I prefer the flat because you don't get the distance distortion that you do with the convex. Plus, with two mirrors on one side to work with, you can cover all the area you need to.

I looked at a Double Cab, and test drove a regular cab with the new 5.7L engine. I believe with a few factory TRD modifications, (headers, exhaust, intake and supercharger) along with some new street shoes and other "modifications" you could EASILY have a truck that could run 0-60 in five seconds or less. It already does it in 6.5 seconds.

I loved the Tundra, but it has a new engine, transmission and brakes. When they released the Tundra back in 1999 they had some brake and transmission problems. To a limited degree, they have repeated history. Some people have reported transmission failures.

I've thought of getting a Tundra, but honestly and surprisingly, the Ridgeline is the best fit for me. I may not have a ton of people in (despite getting it for hauling people) but it is surprisingly versatile.

Thanks Web! As usual you come thru with info from your past experience which I highly value! Since I’ve already got the two convex spots I will order the flat “Tow & See” for the passenger side and test it next time out. These units come in both the convex and flat versions as well.

ROC-On!!
