How many miles before towing?

Oh wonderous and wise wizards of the Ridgeline - my 2008 has about 300 miles on it (after only 5 days - and I work at home!) and I'm reading the owner's manual that states you should wait until you have amassed 600 miles before towing anything - is that really enough break in? I feel pretty confident in it as Honda recommends it (and there are no caveats beyond that regarding towing that I can find), but I want to be sure as I'm planning on towing my old vehicle (a '99 Nissan Sentra) a few hundred miles to donate it to a charitable organization in a few weeks.

Assuming I surpass the 600 mile mark, am I ok?

Re: How many miles before towing?

Who are you going to trust? Honda, who says their engine is good to go after 600 miles, or us, who are going to give you a wide range of opinions that have no factual data and testing to back them up. I had less than 1000 miles on my RL when I started towing with it. It now has over 31,000, of which 35% are towing miles, gets good fuel mileage and burns no oil.
