Do I need special wiring?

I got the Tow Package on my new Ridge I'm picking up tomorrow. I have a Prodigy brake controller. Do I need to purchase anything special at the dealership so I can hook up my controller?

Re: Do I need special wiring?

The OEM tow package will include a pigtail for hooking up your brake controller. It has a plug to fit into the factory wiring under the dash & wires to hook to the controller. If you don't see the little harness, ask the service manager because you should get one. (My RTX came from the factory with the tow package & the brake controller wiring was in a box that had the pin & receiver extension. IIRC, the wires were stuffed inside the extension piece...)

Re: Do I need special wiring?

Just a followup for anyone interested.

There was indeed a pigtail in the glove box for my brake controller. Only problem is it doesn't fit my Prodigy controller. So I'll just take the old one off my other vehicle and use it.

Are you sure your looking at your Honda supplied pigtail properly?

The connector side wont fit your Prodigy controller - it connects up under the dash and the cut-off pigtail ends splice/connect into your Prodigy pigtails.

Most all brake controllers need inputs from your vehicle as shown in the photos below and the Honda supplied connector should work with most applications.

Sorry if I misunderstand your post.
