Re: Hauling Question

I asked the same question of salesman when I bought the Ridge. He asked the service manager and was told even though the manual indicated 600 miles, he'd recommend a thousand or more before pulling anything of any significance. When I asked what was "significant", he said anything above about a thousand pounds. Since my travel trailer is about 2500 pounds, I'll wait the thousand miles. No real problem, I don't have any trips planned before I hit that mileage.
I'm just wondering why you think that advice from a dealer is more valid than that recommended by the factory. It certainly won't do any harm since it is a longer time, but the logic baffles me. If the service manager had said it was safe to tow anything after 300 miles, would you still have believed it?
