Hauling Question

Should I wait until after the break in period to haul something? We just bought a new tractor and was wondering if it would be ok to hauling it home.

Re: Hauling Question

Double check the owners manual, but I beleive the recommendation is to avoid hauling heavy cargo for the first 1000 miles.

if we're talking about a lawn & garden tractor, then I'd think you should be fine (but it wouldn't hurt to check your manual first); however, if we're talking one of these then you should probably wait a bit:

I seem to remember the statement under the towing recommendations area of the owners manual.

Re: Hauling Question

The manual said not to tow or haul stuff until 600 miles. So I will do that then.

Re: Hauling Question

I asked the same question of salesman when I bought the Ridge. He asked the service manager and was told even though the manual indicated 600 miles, he'd recommend a thousand or more before pulling anything of any significance. When I asked what was "significant", he said anything above about a thousand pounds. Since my travel trailer is about 2500 pounds, I'll wait the thousand miles. No real problem, I don't have any trips planned before I hit that mileage.
