Smile Re: Ridgeline as Towing Vehicle

I have a 2008 rl and tow a 5200lbs boat with trailer 2 axle the total weight is 5200lbs and the reason I bought the ridgeline is because I said to Honda I will need to tow my boat first and then if it works I'll buy it, they didn't want to do it at first so I said If youguys want to be a part of the big 4 you better build a truck that can tow so I used the truck for a week-end and drove the sh*t out of it and yes the little 4 wheel drive minivan pulled the boat and gained speed from stop to 100 kph quicker then my last truck Ford f-250 superduty diesel and better fuel milage too. As long as you stay around 90kph so I went to a different dealer and purchased a Ridgeline (LOL)
So yes Love it, I bought the f250 just for the boat but after the climb in fuel prices and the actual amount of time I tow with truck it's about 5 hours a month for 3 months so 15 hours, So why do I need a 3/4 ton pick up for the rest of the year? Yes you'll be fine with 2000lbs
Good luck.

I bought an 08 rtx to pull my coachman captiva. I have just started to pull and the trans seams to be working hard to pull just over 5000 pounds. Has anyone been pulling 5000 pounds for any amount of time?

Re: Ridgeline as Towing Vehicle

around 4500 lbs enclosed here, plus a loaded truck, tow 75+ mph, always leave it in OD, up to 9000 ft altitude and hold WOT steep grades

2007 RTL (new 11/2006) with 52,000 miles

change the trans/diff lube every 15000 miles
