Re: Ridgeline vs. Pilot for towing
I thought that the Pilot was only rated for 4500 lbs. IMHO the difference between 4000 & 4500 is way too narrow if you are trying to pull a 4k rig. An ice chest here and a couple of wet beach towels can put you over the limit.

Re: Ridgeline vs. Pilot for towing
I towed a 17' Casita back from Texas to So Cal with my Pilot 4x4 which I had put air bags on (inside the rear coils) to handle the 375# hitch weight. Towed great, very steady on hwy. Good performance. I was happy but wanted room for bikes and stuff when camping. After trading up to the RL, I am very pleased. Better accel, performance, braking and mileage. The RL feels more stable on the open road with cross winds/big rigs passing. Loaded gross weight on the trailer was about 3500#.
