Re: towing 6X12 dual axle u haul trailer

I got about 13mpg combined on my trips on regular gas. I should have used premium, but I didn't.

Re: towing 6X12 dual axle u haul trailer

thanks all. i'll be sure to post about the trip. premium fuel i assume means the highest octane available at the gas station? or 91 octane instead of 87? is there really that much of a difference in mileage and performance from regular gas to 91 or 93 octane?

It's recommended in your owner's manual. If you haven't read it, you should. There's a wealth of good information in there.

Re: towing 6X12 dual axle u haul trailer

I recently moved some lockers and pallet rack about 160 miles with the ridgy and a u-hual 6X12 dual axle trailer. I had 3 full size banks of lockers in the bed(bed was stuffed) and the trailer packed to the brim i-beams for a rack system and then about 15-20 4'x8' section of rack(heavy to say the least. I filled up right after we loaded everything up and 160 miles later i was in Silsbee with less then 1/4 of a tank remaining. I would say the braking ws great and towing it wasn't bad. But starting from a redlight and going up hills left much to the imagination. Tach was pretty steady at between 2k and 2.5k the whole way. With the majority of the trip at 2.5k
