Talking Smooth pulling uphill at 3000 RPMs

Took my first long trip in the Ridge. Towed a snowmobile up into the mountains. When I hit the big hills the tranny smoothly drops one gear and it pulls quiet and steady at 3000 RPM with no loss of speed.

Got 17 mpg too. All highway (light towing) with the cruse control set at 70.

I could not be happier.

As an aside, I was interested to note that at 55mph, the Ridge is only spinning at about 1600 rpm! Doesn't that strike y'all as very low? No wonder the thing is so quiet.

Mine runs 2000 rpm at 70 mph on flat roads. About the same as my 4.8L V8 Ford Triton motor in my old Expedition.
