Brake Controller Mounting Location

Where have you mounted your brake controller in your RL?

I have a Tekonsha Sentinal to put in mine: http://www.tekonsha.com/tesentinelintro.html

In my Astro van I had it on the dash, almost vertical, right in front of my right knee. Never caused a problem.

It would appear that the dash is closer to my right knee in the RL but not as close to my left Knee. I've been trying to pay attention to where/how my legs move on entry/exit before mounting the thing - don't want 10 years of knee-bashing :-)

Here is where my Prodigy controller is located and I have no leg interference problems.

Re: Brake Controller Mounting Location

Ours is a thin DrawTite and it's in a similar location but on the right of the steering column.

Re: Brake Controller Mounting Location

mjstraw,

I have the Prodigy controller and I plan on letting it sit in the not-an-ashtray area. It's been there for a couple of months now for testing and it hasn't moved yet. My Ridgeline is a lease so I didn't want to put screws in the dash and I didn't want to deal with velcro or double sided tape later. I found the not-an-ashtray online so I will pick up a spare to put in later since I will need to cut some of the back.

I like the idea of partially hiding the controller the way your picture indicates. I also like the way you appear to have hidden the evidence of screw holes, etc. Where did you mount it to? I assume that you used the cradle?

Re: Brake Controller Mounting Location

I posted in the thread "recomendations for brake controller" before I saw this one but to summarize my prodigy is in the space below the "not an ashtray", hung with adhesive backed velcro. Looks and works great there. No problems in over 5 months use.
