Re: Front Mount Hitch

Someone can make a front hitch but not skid plates

Progress measured in inches, I guess (Stay away from the obvious joke or the ROC Demons will haunt ya )

Snow Bear is now showing a mount for the Ridgeline.

I have a plow I used on my GMC. I was just thinking about selling it because I didn't think there would ever be a mount for the Ridgeline...I am rethinking it now, although still don't know if I want a front mount snow plow on my RL.

Any thoughts?

I gotta ask, why would they design and market one for the Pilot before they consider the RL?
Numbers, KE5TCG. There are a lot more Pilots on the road than RLs.

Re: Front Mount Hitch

Looks a bit low but can't tell with the pics, does it diminish ground clearance? I could see the winch, basket, bike racks etc. but I'd hesitate to put too much weight on the front end as the RL wasn't designed that way. From what I've heard, snow plows are heck on a front end of a full sized truck if used regularly.

Personally, I'd wait till Honda comes out with one, at an inflated price of course....But then again, I can be an idiot sometimes (is that admission step 8 or 9 of trying to quit drinking?).

Anything front/back/sides, that bolts underneath, and has access from that side, will diminish ground clearance at that location - eg. you may bump that parking block with the front hitch installed. Now, is it the lowest point on the entire undercarriage? We'll most likely have to wait till someone measures it, but it's something I'd like to know.

you might want to add a few bandages, splints, etc. and possibly even a pint or two of plasma to that kit before attempting this very dangerous maneuver

Re: Front Mount Hitch

on a more serious note, while a front-mounted hitch might be really handy for those with boats and trailers, it's pretty unlikely that it would meet the approval of the Honda engineers from a safety standpoint as I'd have to believe that it would seriously affect the frontal crash capability.

LMAO!!! Dude, I actually woke up my daughter laughing at that one!

E'hem, of course, this would be inadvisable for anyone to say to anyone you care about... Ok, the wife just left, I'll have a bump, but I can live with that.

Here's mine

I need more info on the Curt hitch before I try it for anything heavier than a spare tire. (and I'm not hanging a spare tire mount on the front of my truck) Plain and simple. If it won't work with my brush guard I won't get one at all.

What is the straigt line pulling capacity of this hitch? Did anyone see this anywhere?

I like the Snow Bear plow. I saw a Trailblazer with one. I was impressed with the setup.
