The tear in the lower right came from someone, while parallel parking, getting under the bumper and then backing out. I've tried a few things on my own to mitigate the look, but without much luck. The tear (or pull) wants to stay that way.
My truck must think I'm a psycho. She's in harsh enviornments during the day (work) and protected in a garage at night!

The only problem I noticed was when backing into my driveway which is up hill, the transmission temp warning light came on. Probably since it took me 2-3 tries to get it right?
Total weight with truck and trailer was around 4800lbs.
IT seems to me that if you are within Honda's stated weight restrictions, the warning light should not come on. Are you sure nothing is wrong?

The first heavy load was 31 60lb bags of playsand for the kiddies and misc. lumber. Then later in the year enough treated lumber to build a 12x5 2 story fort/deck (again for the kiddies).

Re: Show/Tell us what you are haulin'

This is what the bed of my truck looks like five days out of the week. It is almost always loaded up with my mower, edger/weedeater, hedger, fuel cans, ladder, handled tools and hand tools , barrels, blower/vac and the debris that I collect from my yards. None of that includes my tool boxes, power drill and assorted supplies in front and under the back seat, all in all about 300 to 500 pounds depending on what yard I am taking care of that particular day.

Dragonslayer,

That ladder looks really close to your back window. How do you keep it from breaking the glass? Do you have something between it and the glass or tied down?

I was thinking that myself. ....after hearing the horror stories of the few that have broken the rear windows

Re: Show/Tell us what you are haulin'

The ladder hooks over the handle of the mower and is kept a few inch's away from the rear window, if I am going on the highway with the truck loaded, I bungee things down. Most of my driving is around town and I rarely exceed 5 miles round trip and some of my yards are right next to each other so I do not move the truck. Generally if I am planning on highway driving I will empty the bed. I have been a gardener steadily for almost 23 years now and started with a 1964 IH then a 74 Chevy, a 98 ford ranger and now the rl. I never broke a window on any of those trucks. I know just how to load up my truck.

Here is an overall picture of everything I carry in the bed of my truck 5 days a week. Sometimes there are more tools and at others less. There are even times that all of my tools are reloaded on top of a load of debris for the greenwaste facility.

Seems like a tiny metal screen-type of trailer would be easier.

Dragonslayer,

I must say I'm impressed with all you can fit in the bed. It sounds like you really know what you are doing with 23 years of experience. The truck looks great, I would never guess it was such a work horse for you if I didn't see it loaded up. Keep on truck'n.
