Ridgelin Job Interview

Thought you might like to see my RL HARD at work. My brother bought a big mobile home this summer with a diesel pusher set up. This can easily tow his big trailer and racing bikes. This sort of put his F-350 dually out of a job. He still needed something to tow his smaller trailer. He was thinking if could get a vehicle to do that plus be comfortabe enough as an every day driver he could sell his towncar also. Enter the Ridgeline. His trailer was parked at Lighthouse Harley Davidson along with his two race bikes at their open house party. I took the adjustable receiver off the F-350 and we hooked up the RL. I rode shotgun while he drove. That RL blew us away. Solid as a rock. Brakeing, handling and excelleration were way beyond both our expectations. Now this guy knows a good tow vehicle when he drives one. That Dually is a V10 with a 5speed manual. We checked the trailers registration when we got back to the shop and the trailer alone empty weighs 3000lbs. Figure another 1000lbs for the 2 bikes and about 1000lbs in tools, batteries spare parts etc. we were looking at 5000lbs conservitaly. There aren't many long hills on Long Island but we did go up a rather steep one about a mile long. About half way up he really accelerated the truck and it moved with authority. He was sold on the spot. The real beauty of all of this was how well mannered that truck was. Not once did it remind you were in a truck. We just tooled along in air conditioned comfort. I've included pictures of the race bikes. For those who care the orange bike is Harleys new drag bike called the Destroyer. Out of the box this thing runs in the nines. The brown bike with the Shovelhead engine ran a 9.2 this year and has been featured in American Iron magazine. By the way the RL was a big hit at the Harley open house.

Thumbs up Re: Ridgelin Job Interview

Nice bikes and good looking RL! I was thinking of getting a trailer about that size for my business, and was wondering how well it would tow. I've checked out some of the towing threads too. Thanks for posting pix.
