What I have noticed - to echo what others have been saying - is that the truck is a lot "crisper" in its shifts and feels a lot lighter to drive. It's actually a lot more fun to drive the truck now as I'm not constantly annoyed by it staying in the wrong gear for way too long on the freeway after I accelerate.
Same here, except I was at 49,000 (51,000 now) and mileage is pretty much the same, i.e. 17 to 18 on my normal daily commute.

Hi Art!

Thanks, I kind of took a hiatus from forums because my work got all crazy. Next thing you know, almost a year has gone by...

I moved from SoCal to Tucson, AZ a year ago. With approximately 40K miles now, fuel economy keeps slightly improving. Now getting about 16 MPG in town and sometimes 21 on the open highways @75+mph. I usually use the 89 grade. I do not baby the truck. I drive it.

Re: Post Tranny TSB - MPG effects

I had the tranny TSB done over a year ago I think. I saw no difference in MPG but it doesn't hesitate while going around corners like it used to. It also seems to shift more smoothly.

My last ten tanks of gas were all above 21 mpg and I do mostly highway driving.

I do see about a 1 mpg difference between winter and summer. In the summer I will average about 22 mpg. MPG drops appreciably if I go up and down steep mountain roads when I'm camping or skiing but I guess that is to be expected. Going up takes more gas and coming down I don't get the energy back because I have to put on the brakes or else fly off the mountain.
