Re: Consumer Complaints on Honda Ridgeline
Huntington Honda just replaced my wiper motor no charge. I told them it failed on me twice. That does happen to be a real issue. I guess I won't know till next winter if it is a fix.

Re: Consumer Complaints on Honda Ridgeline
come on...is it just remotely possible he was holding the gas down and not the brake...what a tool.
Even if you hold both of them the car wouldn't do that. Quote:

Re: Consumer Complaints on Honda Ridgeline
Think we should remind him that the brake is the horizontal pedal on the left!!
NOT the vertical pedal on the right. ![]() Now most drivers would have thrown on the E-Brake at this point. So to summarize --- the accelerator got jammed in rocket mode and the brakes completely failed within a 1/10 of a second after having his bumper tapped. Sounds like the Gene Hackman movie where if the left blinker is going and the car gets hit in the rear driver side the car explodes.

Re: Consumer Complaints on Honda Ridgeline
You guys can laugh all you want but the truth is that what happened to the Civic owner is not entirely impossible. I witnessed a woman flip her Pontiac 6000 onto it's roof by sliding on a patch of ice, using the median as a launch ramp; all @ no more than 5 mph just before a traffic light right next to me!
In the '80's, Audi 5000 models were notorious for the now infamous, "unintended acceleration". As there were no drive-by-wire electro-mechanical throttle systems at the time, the problem was simply found to be a bad design that had both the brake and accelerator pedals too close together. Most of these cases involved women who complained that the harder that they pushed down on the brake, the more the car would lurch. It was later found that the majority of them were wearing high heels which further aggrevated the situation.
