I was there in the 70s also, but my truck generates enough wind noise that even Led Zeppelin can't make go away. Its there, you may just be used to hearing this type of noise from your prior vehicles and have accepted it as a way of driving life. But trust me that if you had a really quiet vehicle before, the difference is annoying at best and disturbing at worst.
I absolutely concur with your statement. I would actually feel a little better if I knew for sure that it was actually wind noise. The truck is otherwise perfect... I'm now trying to drive the truck without "listening" for the noise. Virtually impossible for now....

Re: Wind noise TSB

At least there is comfort in knowing that I am not alone. The funny thing is, one of the main reasons i ditched my chevy colorado for a ridge was because of a few anoying rattles that would not go away.

If I can ever get my truck away from my wife so that i can drive it again, I can see if my wind noise matches anything yall been talking about.

Oddly enough, if i know where a rattle is coming from, it does not bother me. It is when you hear that rattle or noise and spend weeks trying to figure out what causes it that kills. Must be why I am an Engineer, b/c I like to solve problems.

Re: Wind noise TSB

I have an 06 Ridgeline without rack. I too have the intermittent wind noise that sounds like the blowing over a soda pop bottle. My Honda dealer did some "resealing" of the windshield molding and the sound is less pronounced, but still can be heard under certain speeds/and cross wind combinations.

Will Honda ever develop a definitive fix for this?? If the 08's are still having this noise, it is clearly something structural with this Truck that they can not resolve without a re-design.

I've got something like that in my 08 and I think your exactly right about a redesign for any true resolution....

Same goes here, but I know where mine is coming from. On the last trip up north my daughter was sitting in the back and the whistle started. I opened the back slider and as soon as she put her hand up by the rear roof brake light it would stop. Once their I checked it out but found nothing broke, miss aligned, warped ect........... I'm going to try the tape trick on the seam when I get around to it, but its nice and flush.

Re: Wind noise TSB

I'm hoping mine is that as well. I did tape the seam on it once but I did not tape the sides or where it meets the rail molding. I'm going to do the whole thing. When I hear the noise...if I lean foward into the steering wheel... I can no longer hear it... If I lean back in the seat.. I can hear it again. I hope thats it....

Those with a wind noise issues, that own a leaf blower.... Use the leaf blower over the seams until you find the spot. It will be pretty obvious standing outside without the road noise. I did this on a E350 box truck that I had. I couldn't drive it over 60 mph due to the horrible noise.

How can you possibly hear the noise above the leaf blower....?
Is it electric? No way over my gas blower...
