Looking for TSB 07012005

I am looking for information on the TSB 07012005 , Dated July 2005 , Power Doors Lock Themselves or Cycle Twice

I am not sure if that is the actual TSB number - it looks more like a date of release, but all the other sites I have searched are using this number. Seems everyone has the title block of the TSB but no one has the text. Does anyone have a .pdf of the bulletin or can anyone cut and paste the text of the bulletin "Cause" and "Corrective Action"?

Thanks,
Fippy

Thanks,

I have seen a list of several TSB's, but haven't seen one for the door locks.
Can you be more specific of the problem you're having?

Re: Looking for TSB 07012005

TSB was released on July 2005 from information on website www.edmunds.com

Also shows NHTSA Number 10018022

There was another thread posted about this same TSB but there was not enough information posted to determine cause and fix.

Issue: When you hop out of your vehicle and close the door the vehicle will sometimes cycle the door locks twice and end up locking itself. Also when in drive the locks will cycle twice before locking themselves. Appears to be more of an electrical issue with a controller than a lock motor issue.

It would be nice if Honda would be more upfront on their website and post TSBs and other issues for the public to help troubleshoot their vehicles.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

Re: Looking for TSB 07012005

This is not a TSB (no TSB issued for this problem that I can find), but rather an article that appeared in the July, 2005 edition of Honda Service News. Text below (sorry but they never cut and paste properly):

Power Doors Lock By
Themselves or Cycle Twice

NOTE: This article applies to ’0305 Accords,

’05 Odysseys, and ’06 Ridgelines.

An open (ungrounded) driver’s door lock knob

unlock switch can cause the multiplex-controlled
power door locks to lock by themselves or to
cycle twice to unlock and then lock.
What’s going on is the multiplex control unit
"thinks" the driver’s door is locked. To try and
restore the unlock signal, the system unlocks the
door twice. The system then goes back to its
default position by locking the doors.
To fix this problem, here’s what you need to do:

1. Connect the HDS to the 16P data link
connector (DLC). Turn the ignition switch to
ON (II). Turn on the HDS.

2. At the screen prompts, enter the VIN and the
odometer reading.

3. From the

Select Mode screen, select Honda Systems.

From the

System Selection Menu, select Body Electrical.

4. Select Door Locks, and then select Data List.

5. Scroll down to the driver’s door lock (unlock)
data, and read the screen. The list says

ON when the door lock knob is unlocked;

OFF when it’s locked. If the driver’s door lock input
is incorrect, go to step 6.

6. Check for an open circuit in the WHT/BLK

wire between the door multiplex control unit
and the driver’s power door lock switch. If the
wires and connections are OK, go to step 7.

7. Check the lock knob switch ground. If it’s OK,
then replace the driver’s door lock actuator.

The information is not public because the "general public" is not supposed to work on their own vehicle. There is far too much liability for Honda to start encouraging people to work on their vehicles. The average consumer doesn't know enough to prevent possible damage to the vehicle, or worse, injury.
