cars.com 2008 Ridgeline review:

"Whether it was by gut instinct or careful study into pickup truck owners and their habits, the Ridgeline's North American developers arrived at what is arguably the best execution of a pickup for an important type of buyer — those who have adopted the rural American workhorse as the latest alternative people-mover"....

My review of his review:

The guy gets a few things wrong, but overall a good, honest review.

I think that's fair. He seems to be a regular guy with decent concerns. It's a good read.

Re: cars.com 2008 Ridgeline review:

Thanks for the pointer, Other-Joe. That particular writer seemed to be fairly literate & fairly fair. One bone of contention for me, of course, is that he consistently refers to Nissan, Toyota & Honda as "Japanese manufacturers." It's interesting, since the Ridgeline is made in Canada & the Titan is made right here in Mississippi. I'm not sure about the Tundra, but isn't it made on this side of the pond, too? I guess my point is that the "Japanese manufacturers" actually seem to care about keeping some jobs in the ole U.S. of A. Maybe that's another point that "Detroit" might emulate.

Overall, a good review of a truck by a guy who's obviously not into them. And while he didn't get everything about the Ridgeline, he did get one thing right:

"The question for Detroit is, where's your innovation?"

Yeah... I take it as one of the "researched" articles with maybe a test drive for 30 minutes... For what ever it's worth, this must be a typo...

Re: cars.com 2008 Ridgeline review:

Did anyone catch that said that the 08's come with skidplates as standard equipment?

I'm ready for my retrofit.

Thumbs down Re: cars.com 2008 Ridgeline review:

I thought it was a lame read. For a truck that's been out since 2005 (2006 model), it should have been filled with lots of "Changes for 2008 include...". He didn't mention the wheels etc.

His review sounded like a canned review telling us mostly nothing we don't already know.

I give it a thumbs down.

Improvements I was hoping for on the 2008 Ridgeline...

Different headlights, front grills, dash board changes (pssngr cubby door?!?)
Bigger wheel options.

I don't think he wrote the review for owners and especially not members of this great site. I'm thinking his audience may have been potential buyers, or those interested in buying a new truck.

Just curious...would you trade in your current RL if the 08's had these new changes?
