Re: Ridgeline review in farm magazine
It will sell more RL's than the craps ads they use on tv.

Re: Ridgeline review in farm magazine
It will probably result in a few p1ssed off farmers, though. The Ridgeline may be a great "family truck," but I don't think it really fits the bill for anybody who has to pull serious loads of, say, fertilizer through muddy fields.
Hmmm... Shall we say that ForDodgeChevy trucks are excellent for hauling "fertilizer" ![]() Redneck: Hey buddy, why doncha git a real truck? RL Owner: I don't carry fertilizer in my truck.

It also makes the inaccurate statement about a full size spare.
The statement about the scratch makes me recall the Chevy truck ad from 10 or so years back, when one guy sees a scratch on the truck and the owner says scratches give it character. I thought that was a bunch of bull. I find it amazing today seeing a Dodge/Ford/Chevy that I know is a month old or so and the inside of the bed is completely scratched already, bedliners aren't that big of an expense to put in, and even the Rhino-type liners aren't a bad investment. |

Re: Ridgeline review in farm magazine
I enjoyed the farm magazine review. Having grown up on a farm and having gone back a few months ago to work out there, I found the truck more than capable. I pulled out about 150 cedar posts from a fence that my grandfather built about 50 years ago and hauled them in the bed of the truck and in a trailer I was pulling. It was loaded down for sure and it handled it every bit as good as my old Chevy's.
But I did find that when I needed a tool from the trunk I was SOL. Oh well. I still like the trunk better because were it not for that, I would have a bed mounted toolbox and would never have access to the full space in the bad like I do with the RL. And yes, I probably scratched the bed, but no I paid not a bit of attention to it. I am confused on the whole bed scratch issue. I have seen this over and over in these forums. I am not sure why it is such a big deal. It is a truck. That is what is supposed to happen. I did put down a rubber mat from my old Avalanche but only to keep debris out of the trunk grooves when hauling firewood or other stuff like that. BTW, If I was gonna put out fertilizer in our field myself, I would pull the spreader trailer behind a tractor anyway. A Chevy or Dodge or Ford is gonna bog down in a muddy field too.
