I think you may find an answer in the Polls section. If not, start a new poll that will answer your specific question.

Question Re: Ridgeline Awards

I am also curious as to the demogrphics of male to female ownership of the RL also one of how many own an RS, RT and the RTL and our Canadian cousins versions . I would start a poll but I have not found out how to start a poll as of yet . Maybe one of our wiser senior members could advise me or even assist in starting those two polls . I used to be one of those annoying shopping mall market researchers that everyone hates and tries to avoid , I have been addicted to all sorts of demographics ever since and that was 26 years ago, boy does time ever fly by .

Thumbs up Re: Ridgeline Awards

If this is the place to comment on Ridgeline awards I just noticed that AAA chose the Ridgeline as their TOP PICKUP!!! Oddly they did not pick the Honda Civic for top car but this is the Ridgeline Owners forum so we can still celebrate.

AAA picks the Ridgeline as their TOP PICKUP TRUCK!!!

AAA looked at more than 200 vehicles and chose winners in 13 categories based on criteria like ride, performance, braking, handling, cargo space, value and fuel economy.

Thumbs up Re: Ridgeline Awards

Having been involved in the plastics industry for the past 27 years, I sometimes come across things about innovations in plastics "buried" on the web in the form of .pdf's.
Recently I spied the following details about the prestigious "SPE Grand Award" for the impressive composite In-Bed Trunk and the "top award in the Body Exterior category" :

TROY (DETROIT), MICH. – The most prestigious prize of the 35th-anniversary SPE(16)
Innovation Awards Gala – the Grand Award – was given to the team that developed the
composite In-Bed Trunk(17) featured on the ’05 MY Honda(18) Ridgeline pickup truck. The
integrated storage system molded from sheet-molding compound (SMC) composite provides
8.5 cubic feet of easily accessible, lockable, weather-tight stowage. It can hold toolboxes,
luggage, or up to 3 sets of golf clubs, and doubles as an in-bed ice chest (with integral drainage
plug). With an 1,100-pound carrying capacity and integral tie downs, the rugged trunk offers
better durability and slip resistance than conventional systems and is rustproof. Additionally, the
trunk offers a weight savings of 30% vs. steel, and its 7-piece construction replaced over 100
steel parts while greatly enhancing manufacturability, assembly, and durability. In fact, this truly
innovative application achieves levels of component integration that would not be feasible in
sheet metal for reasons of cost, mass, and manufacturability. Meridian Automotive Systems was
the systems supplier for this application; tooling was supplied by Century and Global Tooling
Systems; and the materials suppliers included Ashland Chemical, Saint-Gobain, and Rohm &
Haas. In addition to the Grand Award, the application also won the top award in the Body
Exterior category.

16 SPE is a trademark of the Society of Plastics Engineers International.
17 In-Bed Trunk is a trademark of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
18 Honda is a trademark of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

...just a side note... isn't it interesting that Honda trademarked "In-Bed Trunk"? I guess that's just another benefit of innovative thinking!

Re: Ridgeline Awards

One of the companys listed ( the last one listed for the actuall material that the bed interior is made from), was Rohm & Haas. I frequently pass by that plant. About 10 miles from here. Guess I'll think of their contribution every time I drive by there in the future

So, Just how big of a display board are we gonna need to list ALL the Ridge's awards when we show up for the big get together in Ohio this July?!
