neighbours from hell....

Why is that everytime I move to a new neigbourhood and new house I end up with one couple or family that just obnoxious.....I wish I could interview my neighbours like I do people before I hire them. This middle aged couple was quiet and unassuming for the first 8 months... except for the constant Pot smoking ( 3 - 4 times a day or night ) I have to close all my windows and vents to avoid that stomach turning odour. Then on top of that the man drinks alot. Now comes the good part... 2 - 3 times a week they go at it like Frasier and Ali ... I mean at 4:00am or middle of the afternoon. They scream obscenities at the top of their lungs and toss furniture at each other. I finally call the cops. I would have hoped to kill two bird with one stone.....I will assume the cops smelt Pot and the cops probably found it on him plus the disturbing the peace complaint.... cuz its been soooo quiet and no POT smell for 2 weeks now...ha

I thought couples like these you only watched on Sureal TV shows. Thanks for listening.

Re: neighbours from hell....

Nice vent. Speaking of neighbors, last week I heard what sounded like two pigs squealing like...well...pigs. Sure enough, I walk out on the back deck and see two three hundred pound Tongans slaughtering two pigs in the back of their pickup. Looked like they hit em over the head with a club then slit the throats, grab the hose and wash the blood out of the bed into the gutter. This is a family neighborhood, there were kids out riding on their bicycles, mothers pushing baby carriages, no one seemed to notice much, cept me. Hours later the BBQ was going and the whole street plus the local church were having a feast. I'm not complaining here, your neighbor story made me think back to this one, nothing like a little culture sometimes. Any other neighbors stories out there?

Re: neighbours from hell....

wow and i was complaining about a cat and parking from hell. Kids that are allowed to scream all night long and keep everyone awake.

Neighbor with the cat died suddenly - nice guy, shame, but cat is gone and car cover is not suffering any further damage.

Some other things have quited down as well, at least no animal slaughter going on here or pot smoking.

Re: neighbours from hell....

Some of our newer reidents from south of the border have been in trouble with the law for slaughtering goats in thir yards.

Re: neighbours from hell....

My worst neighbors were my first ones. When I had my first apartment, the couple right next to me would routinely crank the volume way up on some obnoxious country music so that I couldn't hear him beat the snot out of her.

Or he'd literally throw her out, and she'd stand out in the hallway all night SCREAMING at him at the top of her lungs.

My first reaction was to offer her some help. When that didn't work I just yelled at them both to shut up.

This is why I no longer live in neighborhoods.

Re: neighbours from hell....

Yikes.. I would hate to deal with some of the above mentioned neighbors after a hard days work...

I am glad I dont have any neighbors behind me, and double lots on each side of me. And some people wonder why I drive so much each day to have some space, and live out in the country....

Re: neighbours from hell....

I've always been extremely fortunate in regards to neighbors.

My present neighbors used to own an Italian restaurant. I take care of their front lawn and do some minor house repairs for them. In return they send over some great food. They tell me I'm their best neighbor ever. I gained twenty pounds since I moved in next door.

Re: neighbours from hell....

With the state of the market today it might be quiet for a while.

I'm lucky to have great neighbors.
