Close to buying RTL this week... ($ advice?)

To all of you savy buyers out there...
-I have "lurked" for quite some time, and am FINALLY ready to
take the plunge this week!
I have done my due dillegence and sent out the e-mails to dealers etc..
After the back and forths..
this is what has been offered for a 07' RTL w/moonroof:
$28,821 plus Tx. & Lic.

I also asked for a few extras>
Fog lights $474
Running boards $495
Luggage rack $ 406
(I can not install, so it looks like this is where they make their $)

I am from Seattle and with checking this site it seems that the NW does
not have the amazing deals I have seen in other parts of the country.
Does this at least seem on par?

Thank You in advance for any advice

Fog lights, I can't comment on these.

Running boards -
You can buy aftermarket ones for half that cost and the install is EASY! All you need is a ratchet and a small pair of pliers (really, that's it). The Honda boards install is not as simple as you need specialty tools.

Luggage rack -
I know other ROC members have purchased these for much cheaper and the install doesn't appear difficult.

hi... and welcome.

Are you short?.. if not.. skip the running boards.

the luggage rack... unless you need it... it's UGLY.

just saved you $800

the fog lights?... for safety sake... if you drive alot at night,
and have seasonal fog... go for it.

$28,000 is good for an RTL

for the money... RTX is the way to go.

but if ya gotta have leather and nav... then get them.

To each his own...

good luck

I love my fog lights. Dresses up the front end and most important, I can see much better!!!!

I don't care for the look of the roof rack or step rails. Just my .02 worth.

I got my RTL w/Navi at the beginning of the month incl Appearance Pkg, Destination and the fog lights installed for $28,800. TTL extra.

They had them installed within 2 hours.

I love the look of the RL with the fogs.

If you get nearer to the end of the month/quarter then you should be able to get a better deal.

I'm in Seattle and shopping as well. I've also found it difficult to get the prices I'm seeing on this forum. Did the price you posted include the options you mentioned? What dealership are you working with? Anything you can tell me would be very appreciated.

To: Schade

among the dealerships that you have e-mailed, see if any of them have a low price gurantee where they will honor match any documented offer from another dealership.

when you find one that has such a low price gurantee, goto another dealership that you don't particular care for / wont be earning your business, ask the first salesman you see for his / her business card, or go a step further and ask for a managers business card, take a brochure and leave

next, write down any of the (realistic) deals you see here on this board, on the back of that card. if at all possible, get your son / daughter, niece / nephew or wife to do it so that your salesman wont think something's funny if he recognizes your handwriting.

finally, goto the dealership with the low price gurantee that you will give your business too and present the business card with the lower offer on the back of it.

if the dealer asks why you didn't buy a RL from the competition for that price tell them you checked the Better Business Bureau and they had red flags against their dealership or something like that.

long post but easy process.

happy hunting.

Re: Close to buying RTL this week... ($ advice?)

I got the factory fog lights with mine. There's alot of deer around here. It really helps seeing in them.

My advise is get what you want. Keep in mind, if they are factory (dealer installed), they are more expensive, however they are covered with the factory warranty.

The appearance package varies with every dealer. At ours it includes:

1. Factory Door Edge Guards
2. Trunk Dividers
3. Rear Splash Guards
4. Rear underseat cargo tray

Some other dealers add pinstripes, etc...
