Rta Tax Warning

For those of you who live in Tacoma, don't forget you may have to pay a RTA TAX based on your address and zip..The dealer will only estimate other exise tax due on the vehicle but this will not include exise tax which was $99 on my vehicle (actually should of been 94) another screw up from the dealership in Olympia Washington ..Reason being as explained by the "Cocky" finace manager there is "Hey we don't know the boundries the state sets so we don't know to charge you the RTA or not". So basically they don't care to mention you may get a bill for $100 more in a week or so from us....So you get to wait and see if you get a surprise letter from us when we review our audit. So to avoid all the bull**** I just went through, you folks in tacoma need to give the DOL a call and see if RTA TAX applies to your address and zip unless of course $100 is no big deal to you, then just proceed and enjoy your new Ridgeline.

Just curious, what is the RTA tax? What does "RTA" stand for? Those of us not living in Washington State are in the dark here.

Okay your going to Love this...The RTA TAX was a tax developed to pay for a transit rail system that was suppose to go from seattle to Tacoma..This Transit system never was built but we still had to pay for the development of it!!
