I've decided on a Ridgeline

So,

After scouring this site and every review I could possibly get my hands on, I've settled on buy a certified used 2006 Ridgeline RTL (minus the Nav).

I could be buying tomorrow or a month from now. I gave word to a Honda dealer who knows my family well and he gets lots of trade-ins.

In terms of Colors, I'm down to White, Silver, or Black. I'd like to have the iPod jack option, but my iTrip will suffice if need be.

In terms of any AM mods, I plan to add a roof rack, running boards and AEM intake (all should be DIY, right?)...

So, does anyone have suggestions, things I should look for with the '06 model or would it be worth it to hold out and pay a smidge more for an '07?

Did they give you an estimated price? With the huge dealer incentives coming from Honda now, you may be able to go new for close to the same money.

Exactly what I was thinking. Getting used is almost not worth it the way new trucks are priced. I think I have read that people getting new RTL's in the 25-26k range. NOT BAD

If you have your heart set on a '06, I'm sure you can get a better deal from a personal sale as people are getting hammered on trade ins.

I really thought hard about an '08, but they're just out of my price range at the moment. I could afford it, but I'd like to buy a house as soon as possible, so it's a bit of a stretch.

I was reading that people are getting around 18K for their used RTLs from dealer trade-ins, so I guessing that the dealer we know will give us a quick turnaround and a OTD price of around 18.5K.

Another thing to consider, the '06 was the first production year. The '08s have a lot of the early design quirks fixed. I know this as less/no people are complaining about earlier issues. I'm not saying the '06 is a poor choice, just saying I think the '08s are put together better. (ok, I've ended my generalizations )

I know my '06 (traded-in) was in prime shape and will make/made someone very happy

Kadeezy,
I in no way want to discourage you from purchasing a Ridgeline. I test drove one on Saturday and I would love to take advantage of the dealer incentives. The Ridgeline is the perect truck for what I want/need in a vehicle and I am green w/ envy when I see one on the street! My Tacoma is 8 years old and we just paid off my wife's Mountaineer But we also have a baby due in three weeks and I don't want to incur any new obligations. (Now if I get promoted this summer, then there's gonna be a shiny new R/L in my driveway !!!)
My only caution is if you plan to purchase a house keep in mind any debt you have (car payments, school loans, credit cards etc.) work against how much you an borrow. IMHO the right house outweighs the right vehicle, but of course everyoine's situation is different and if you can swing it, I'll be jealous of you too!!
