Traded 07 for 08 here are some numbers...

I had a 2007 RTS with aprox 20k miles I traded for an 08 RTL - no navi.

Here are some numbers from the deal
Trade In. 2007 Nimbus Grey RTS 20k miles, good condition except for some scratches around both rear fenders, right rear tail light housing busted with scratches around the bumper. bed scratched like what would be expected from a truck without using bedliner. interior in typical shape of a 18 month old vehicle that is kept up but not babied.

Trade allowance 19500.

New vehicle 2008 RTL - pure stock no accessories.
Price Paid 25700
Added, rear splash guards, wheel locks and tow package for 665.(msrp according to honda)

total for truck with splash guards, wheel locks and tow package including installation
25700 + 665 = 26365

add dealer fee 199.00 = 26564. only other fees are 300 sales tax and 39.00 dmv

my net before tax and title was 6865.

Based on pure msrp before accessories the msrp difference between RTL and RTS is aprox 2665. I did not have tow package on 07 so add 500 (plus dealer installation would be around 200). We are now looking at MSRP difference of around 3200+.

The difference between my net of 6865 and 3200 is 3665.

I know there are other ways to look at it however and other factors other people might consider.

3665 depreciation in 18 months for a new 07 RTS, 20,000 miles is pretty good.

First line says it ,but with a typo on second paragraph, I would assume. Plus he or she has'nt changed their vehical under their name, still says "07" RTS.

That was a fair deal! My RTS is very clean (no scratches or stains) with 13,000 miles, 08 rims, bug and window guards and dash kit and they started at 17k---NO WAY. If they got serious at 19500, I would have considered it. Well done!

Just wondering because of the typo...I can read...just changes the approach if it's an RTS vs RTL
