Wait for 2009?

Hi everyone

Been waiting forever to buy a Ridgeline. Just started to get real serious since the dealers are basically ready to bend over backwards to sell one. Now there's news that the 2009's are coming. Now the question is, "Do I wait?". So I'll ask this question to you on this forum.

Here is what I've read so far
1) Front end appearance change - Not enough for me to wait since I actually like the looks just as is.

2) Possible diesel option - Wouldn't consider diesel anyway

3) 18-inch wheel - Is this simply a wheel change with no additional tire well clearance? If it is, definitely not a problem since I'll buy whatever wheel I want later anyway.

4) Performance improvement - Depends on what type of improvement.

5) Interior improvements - Again, depend on what type of improvement.

Is there anything that anyone has heard that would be compelling to wait?

I am assuming if I do wait that all these factory incentives are gone. So should I assume that the 2009's will be $3 to 5K more?

If you can wait and can afford the possable increase in price I'd wait, I just bought a few weeks ago but didn't have wheels and had a long drive to work.

The truck can only get better for 2009, even without any changes. At the very least you'll probably get better colour choices.

search Csimo's posts...he has some very good information. I don't think the diesel option will be ready, hp has been mentioned as a slight bump, ext/int changes, and standard towing...I think there is a link somewhere to a honda update site as well...

I am in the same boat. i saw the pics of the 2009 but those are not worth the 4 k i would be saving by buying a 2008. BTW Ive been gettign better pricing about a month ago now these dealers dont want to budge especially on their last trucks. TODAy i got quoted after endless haggling 25,600 rtl no navi with roofrack and foglights +675 destination, tax and lic. What do you guys think??? Is that a good deal or can i do better? PS its their last RTL no navi, dark grey color

Sometimes a "good deal" all comes down to getting the truck you want. You can pick apart any deal but at the end of the day soemtimes its worth it to pay a little extra for exactly what you're looking for.

If you havent already, do a local inventory by calling dealers and seeing if they have the truck you want in trim/option/color. If this is the only truck locally - I'd probably pay a little extra for it. Otherwise, find the most reasonable dealer - especially at the end of this month - they should be looking to move it as were coming up on a quarter-end month.

Do you think a 2008 RTL Will sell for 29K? Is that possible given the economy or way to low for a manufacturer to be selling trucks at.

my advice is to buy an 08' for a bargain basement price, since the changes for 09' arent major.
