Lease question

When getting to the residual value, do you use selling price or MSRP. Edmunds seems to use sales price, My dealer using full MSRP, is this correct? In my case 54% = $16,791.0 When I use interest.com's program risidual at 54% come to $12200. If I would want to keep the truck would I not be paying an inflated value. If no one buys at msrp why should I pay the inflted residual. Am I off base?, it is 117 degrees today could be mind melting.

Re: Lease question

From what I know, which is little about leasing, residual value is negotiable. I believe you can negotiate the price as if you are purchasing, then decide to lease based on the negotiated price.

Right now a lease on a RL is not a bad idea as opposed to buying. I'd turn the screws on your dealership, as their sales have gotta be soft due to the price of gas. Do as much research on leasing as you can to find out about the ins and outs.

Exclamation Re: Lease question

Check out Car Lease Guide - Free Guide to Smart Car Leasing - LeaseGuide.com, it has invaluable information. When you lease the dealer is just selling the car to the leasing company not you, they are still trying to maximize their profits!!! If they sell the car to the leasing company for more....you will lease it for more...period.....NEGOTIATE AS IF YOU WERE BUYING!!!!! Take advantage of the 4500.00 incentive to lower your residual. I'm telling you check out leaseguide.com, it's the bible of leasing as far as I am concerned.

Good Luck!

Re: Lease question

Always negotiate your best deal, then let them know if you are going to lease or buy. I lease most of my vehicles. I always get lowest selling price then I let them know I will be leasing.
