ROC Dealer Directory

I have a page being developed right now that will be our official online Dealer Directory. Until that's complete, here's the start of our growing list:

*EDIT 2/6/2007
Our all-new Honda Dealer Directory is now online. Check it out!

Attention dealers: if you'd like to be included on this list, please send me an email: tmac@ridgelineownersclub.com. You must be on our Dealer Directory in order to promote your dealership, special pricing, etc. And the the dealers above agree...it's well worth it.

Re: ROC Dealer Directory

Tom,
I just want to let other dealers know how much I appreciate both of the sites. I use them everytime a customer comes in on a Element or a Ridgeline! I finally had the site put on my business cards too! The Element site has helped close many deals. I know the Ridgeline site will be a huge success! It offers a valuable third party opinions on both models, gives buyers peace of mind knowing they can get truthful answers and opinions from non sales people. Thanks again.

Thumbs up Re: ROC Dealer Directory

T Mac,

Kudos to the new site! Kim and I believe this site will not only be informative to consumers, but will provide a great forum for owners to brag, beef, compare notes, and relay experiences about the Ridgeline!

We will be happy to answer any questions members may have, as well as assist them in the purchase of a Ridgeline, as we have with so many members of the elementownersclub, where we've not only assisted with purchases, but also made lots of friends!

Re: ROC Dealer Directory

This is a great idea. How do we get more dealers interested? It is very refreshing to see that some dealers are as outraged about markups as we buyers are. If any one of them was near me, I would be there tonight trying to work out a deal.

Re: ROC Dealer Directory Taxes and registration

Welcome Dealers,

I would like to know how it works when one purchases a new vehicle out of state. Do I have to pay the taxes where its purchased? Or can I skip them and get a transfer registration to drive it haome, and them pay the tax when I register it here.
Heck what better to have a vacation than fly somewhere, buy a new ridgeline, and enjoy driving it home.

Thanks

Add to that, what if the state doesn't have sales tax...I'm in WA, and there was someone here advertising a new Honda dealership in Portland, OR which doesn't have sales tax.

Re: ROC Dealer Directory

Diver - Even if you purchase your vehicle in a non-sales tax state like Oregon, you will get tagged for the sales tax when you register/license it in your home state of Washington. Most Oregon dealers near the state border will be able to process the Washington registration paperwork and will collect the WA sales tax at the time of sale. Death and taxes will always be unavoidable certainties! Sorry to be the bearer of such gloom.

Re: ROC Dealer Directory

For cars and trucks, it's not really worth the effort, but for more expensive purchases, like aircraft, there are legal ways around the sales tax.

One method is to set up a company in the no tax state, purchase the vehicle in the company. Then you merge the company into your company in the taxable state. Since it was an asset of the original company and is now used, the tax does not apply.

Having written this, I am not an accountant so you will need to seek proper tax advice.

Re: ROC Dealer Directory

Sfoster,

I would not say that so fast, state tax here is 5.3 city sales tax rates go from about 8 - 9.5. One of my co-workers just bought a used car out of state, he paid no sales tax where he got it, just a $15.00 fee for a oneway transit permit, drove it back here and registered it, and paid the 5.3 to get the plate. Now if the same can be done with a new $30,000 truck, you can save about $1000.00. For a drive over to California, or Vegas, that is not bad, since it is only a couple of hours away.
