Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

I am considering purchasing an RTL, but I am surprised that the IIHS has not conducted crash tests on the Ridgeline. I see that the results of the Pilot tests are excellent, and would like to assume that the Ridgeline is equally as good. I have seen the government test results which seem pretty good. Does anyone know whether why the Ridgeline hasn't been tested by the IIHS or perhaps the Pilot results are representative of the Ridgeline as well???
Thanks.

I think that because they are privately funded, they test vehicles that are more popular in order to make the best use of their money spent on vehicles.

Re: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

to the best of my knowledge, Ridgeline has a 5star crash test for front, side and rear inpack, also has go marks on roll over and structural sound roof.
I remember reading something about it on either MT or RT or motorweek's long term. other's will chime in and let you know and correct my postings.

http://www.nhtsa.gov/

Try this. It came from the National Highway and Safety Administration.

Is this what you are looking for?

Re: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

I've seen the NHTSA ratings, but I'm looking at www.iihs.org

Perhaps keastman has a good point---the relatively low popularity of the RL makes it a subprime candidate for testing. (Although the institute seems to test almost every make and model.)

I think I will call them and ask if they plan to test the RL anytime soon.

Search the ROC... There are a few pics of some heavily damaged RL's...
