This from a guy that runs a TT?
![]() Let not your heart be troubled... Honda made a profit last quarter. That should be a comfort.

Re: What would you pay for a Ridgeline Diesel?
Simple, the missus wanted a roadster (she'd never had a drop-top) but needed AWD for her daily commute across the Hudson. Only choices were the TT or a Porsche Carrera 4 and $90-100K was simply out of the question. If the S2000 had been available with AWD it would definitely have made the list!

So I can understand a preference for AWD.... certainly an edge.

Re: What would you pay for a Ridgeline Diesel?
Just sold my Jeep Liberty Diesel because nobody in my region has any clue how to work on them! Power was outstanding and economy was great(intake, exhaust, strikerII module = more power than a Dodge Hemi). If Honda were to put the same diesel engine that is in the California Accord (62.8mpg) I'd jump on one after the infrastructure for mechanics was in place. It would probably only get 35-45 mpg, but that's good enough for me!
Beware of the Mahindra line of pik-ups coming to America. 1.25+ ton capacity, RL sized, 30mpg 4-door with a 2.2L diesel. these may prompt honda to jump on the diesel bandwagon. Small bore diesels are the future, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Overseas where the EPA has no say, these trucks are getting 40mpg. I think my wife's CRV will go away when the Mahindra's launch! Brant

Mahindra. Man, if you think the Ridge is ugly... that Mahindra sets a new standard for ugly, imo.

Design will come with revenue. Not saying I would trade my Ridge for one. But I hope if Mahindra starts taking sales from Honda, the diesel may come yet.

Re: What would you pay for a Ridgeline Diesel?
In America, every manufacturer charges 3-6K$ more for the same truck in diesel. My Jeep Liberty sticker price was 31K$ (I bought it used much cheaper than that). It stands to reason that Honda in America would do the same. Diesel WILL be more expensive up front, fuel is slightly higher, and (generally) mechanics are clueless. Diesel fuel is about 0.25$ (10%) higher at the pump, but the fuel economy is greater than a 10% difference so you're coming out ahead. Oil change intervals are longer, more savings there.
Jeep Liberty: gas /// diesel 16-20mpg /// 22-30mpg 3Kmiles oil change /// 3-12.5K mile oil change ___________________ Depends on driving conditions okay power /// More power than a Hemi I wish my 2 boys hadn't outgrown the Liberty. I wish Honda would but that California Accord diesel in the Ridgeline. http://www.thetorquereport.com/2007/...esel_will.html After messing with the intake/exhaust on a diesel version, 40-45 mpg should be attainable. Mahindra is doing 30mpg in America with older technology. I'd buy in a heartbeat if the diesel was 3-5K$ more. Brant.
