Roll-Up Tonneau Cover Owners
Does anyone else with a roll up cover (Access, Truxedo, etc) find that they can't roll the cover up all the way to the window?
I bought an access cover because I wanted to utilize the full bed space but I can't roll the cover up all the way because the truck tapers a bit at the cab. This information would have been extremely helpful BEFORE I bought this thing and installed it! |

Re: Roll-Up Tonneau Cover Owners
I have the Truxedo. Been on for 3 years and I love it. Sure, I would say its a little snug near the cab, but it fits without damage. Its so snug, a lot of times I dont use the straps if its rolled up, haha. Roll and go!

Agreed. I also have a truxedo and, although I always use the straps, it fits nice and snug, rubs the edges, but doesn't leave any marks or damage behind.

Re: Roll-Up Tonneau Cover Owners
Same here. When I roll my Truxedo up, it's so sheltered behind the cab that I don't need the straps for short trips. If I really need to have complete bed access, it's easy enough to remove the entire cover and leave in the garage or put it under the rear seats.

I have been interested in the Access Soft Cover for my 09 RTL, but am now concerned that you cannot roll the cover all the way up to the back window because of the bed taper - is this true? Additionally, is there still an issue with the Truxedo Low Pro Cover and the velcro coming loose from the side rails. Which of these 2 soft covers provide the best overall fit and usability? Appreciate any feedback of these 2 covers, as I am trying so hard to convince myself which cover to purchase before the snow hits here in Ohio.

Re: Roll-Up Tonneau Cover Owners
cherryridge, search the forum for Truxedo Low Pro and you should be able to get more information than you need to make a decision. I like my Truxedo and haven't had the velcro issues that others in warmer climates have had. The last two summers have been unseasonably cool, so that might have helped too. As said above, you can roll the Truxedo up right to the rear window and hold it there with the straps that come with it. It does still intrude about 3 inches or so into the bed. If that's a problem, you just pull to levers, lift the whole affair out, and leave it in the garage.

Here is the response from Access on the soft cover rolling all the way to the back window:
This is NOT true. The cover is snug when you roll it all the way to the front because of the design of the Ridgeline but it DOES roll all the way to the front. It will roll up far enough to rest on the front rail. If it doesn’t…it was possibly installed wrong.
