Exactly !!! which is why most oem hids are 4100 to 4500K Alot of those higher # kits are dyed bulbs. 6,000-65000 k are the true highest with a purple hue to them.

Re: Hids

Just did a 6000k conversion and night and day. I've been used to the lighting from my Acura, so was needed. LOVE it. Did have to adjust the lights because they were slightly high, but since have had no flashing at me or anything. Luckily in AZ, vehicle laws are very laxed, yes they are illegal but the cops will never ticket for it, just like limo black tinted windows, missing body parts, etc. Unless your missing the plate, speeding or driving drunk, they never pull anyone over.

Can you share details on which kit you have?

Re: Hids

I got mine from here. http://stores.ebay.com/hidkitsconversionshop
Went with them since the chipset was german and the bulbs from Japan, you can get cheaper sets but everything is a chinese knockoff and not looking to have to deal with lighting issues every 6 months.

Some links about this
Kelvins in this case refers to color temperature and has nothing to do with wattage. It’s simply telling you the color of the light that will be output in a more measurable scientific way

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin#Color_temperature
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_t...or_temperature

Now there is a correlation for color temperature and output lumens when discussing HID’s but I will leave that discussion for other posts that have been well covered other places and state this:

5000-6000k hid’s have higher output lumens than 8000-10000k hids kit
