Re: Gas

Wow, I got a headache just reading through all this stuff!

I just stick with Shell or Chevron, cuz I think they are the cleanest, best gas for my Ridgeline. I don't know why, but my truck always seems to run better on those then BP, Mobil, or anything else....

95% of the time I use Shell as well.

All good choices. Being the station is half way decent.

I have heard from many people that certains gases run better on certain cars. And that isn't model specific. Just individual car/bike specific.

That could be true, but I used to have a 2004 Kia Optima and it also ran much better when I used Shell gas compared to whatever is in Costco....

Re: Gas

How are you gauging that a car runs better on one brand than another? Better fuel mileage? Seat-of-the-pants power? What is the measure?

I've never been able to tell any difference between fuel brands... except that lately, when economically feasible, I've used branded fuels (Shell, Exxon, etc.)... and have found the only difference to be that my mileage has dropped.

But otherwise, I can tell no difference in the smoothness of the engine or the power, etc.

I think that is what I hear. Its more of a milage change not a power change by brands. And it goes both ways for every brand.
