JUmping in the game late..but we just bought a new Pilot and was going to upgrade the Ridgeline..the Sport wheels and grille are sweet. Do you know if they are going to make these available on a RTL? I know you can buy them but wow..expensive..anyway..any news>?

No, they are exclusive to the Sport... but you can buy them as accessories (expensive as you mentioned). You might get lucky enough to find someone that would be willing to swap them with you.

I doubt you'll see any more changes or upgrades to the current Ridgeline as it's at end of life.

Best thing for you to do would be to buy aftermarket wheels that look like the Sport wheels since they would like be less expensive. Then you can have the tires mounted on the new rims and sell your stock wheels (or keep them to put winter tires on them) to help make up the cost of the aftermarket wheels. If you're really set on the Sport wheels, you're certainly going to pay for the "upgrade".

friends 2012 rtl came with sport taillights. somebody was sleeping while picking parts on the assembly line.

also, his front lower aero fairing is much more square cornered than mine. never would have noticed if the trucks weren't parked side by side.

...Or someone at the dealer swapped parts around. I've personally had this happen twice. Once with a set of wheels and once with a radio when the dealers had the exact vehicle I was looking for except for one thing. I paid the difference for these items, but I suspect the buyer of the other vehicle ended up paying for more than what they got. You know the dealer didn't discount the other cars for their downgrades! I don't know if it is specifically illegal, but it's almost certainly not proper.

Agreed. When I was selling for a Honda dealership, a guy wanted to buy a new (at that time) 2007 CR-V. He was trading a 2004 model. The EX and EX-L had the exact same wheel design, but the EX came with Continental tires and the EX-L had Bridgestones. The guy wanted the EX-L, but would NOT take it if the Bridgestones were on it. Apparently he had the same type on his 2004 and had nothing but problems with it. So, the sales manager made a deal with the guy and swapped the EX's wheels and Continental tires onto the EX-L and vice-versa. That specific EX sold just a week later. In that case, it's probably not good practice since the Bridgestones were considered OEM for the EX-L. Just goes to show that you need to know the vehicle you're purchasing.

I know honda is doing their earth dreams engines but with the 3.5 I don't think will produce what is needed in the Ridgeline. Just take the current 3.7 that they use in the Acuras direct inject it and give it a turbo for the low end. This vehicle is darn near perfect just tweak a few things and they will have a vehicle that can be competitive in its market.

I won't debate if the 3.7L engine would be better for the Ridgeline or not, but I can tell you with very high certainty that it is not being considered for the Ridgeline. As far as I know there are no plans for turbocharging in the V6 line.

It would be more likely that Honda will try and move to reduce V6 engine usage overall in favor of a direct-injected, turbocharged I4 engine.

If Honda puts in boosted I4 they better drop 500 lbs somewhere and offer the 3.5 boosted as well. The current engine, even with their dream tech isn't upto today's truck standards..... Not to mention 2015 IF there is a new ridgeline.
