265/60-17 looks like a nice option as it only thows off the speedo by .01%.

Re: Ultimate tire fitment chart
I think you have the 265/60/18 wrong
both that and 245/70-17 are 30.5” so why would you need to welds on the 265/60/18 and not on 245/70/17 if both are 30.5'' they should be idenctical in size I know 265 are a little wider but shouldnt be enough for any issues can anyone else confirm that 265/60/18 rub ? PS: especially when looking at 265/65-17______30.6”____________3.5% slow__________No__________No just as wide and a tiny big bigger and it says NO.... NO on rubbing Last edited by Gouranga; 11-03-2012 at 02:09 AM. |

Re: Ultimate tire fitment chart
I had Yokohama YK580s 265/50/20 on my and only had a slight rub at 1 full turn to the left, but road awesome. Just traded my truck so I still have the rims and tires.

Re: Ultimate tire fitment chart
anytime you go wider and keep the same over all diameter you will need MORE clearance do to the geometry from the hub pivot to the outside corner of tire. That being said you "may" find a 265/60/18 that doesn't have a rubbing issue but again this would be model/brand specific because no two models are created equal even if they claim the same 265/60/18 aspect ratio.
The tire fitment guide based on aspect ratios at the beginning of this thread is just an estimated guideline individual tire manufactures and models will vary and you will need to do individual research when looking at each specific model. Also when you are looking into aftermarket wheels with alternate offsets/backspacing that too will alter the geometry and affect clearance as well making things that much more complicated. This is why I would never go bigger than a 245/70 17 A/T tire. The members who mention theirs rub just a little bit, have to realize if you actually go off roading, the "little" rubbing will turn into MAJOR rubbing.

Re: Ultimate tire fitment chart
highly unlikely if they are running the exact same tire... a different model tire could be entirely different do to difference in overall diameter and actual tread width. When I was shopping for my 245/75/17 tires ranged up to 1/2" different diameter and 2" tread width difference. That difference in actual tread width can be the difference from "close to rubbing" and major rubbing when the tire is turned.
