question
This afternoon I was replacing some brake/tail light bulbs with LEDs, and I noticed something strange. Right beside each bulb opening in the tail light assembly, there was a removeable plastic cap which was covering an additional access hole (there were three of these next to the three bulbs). My son (a police officer) seemed to think that these were adaptor holes for adding the strobe bulbs that police cars have stuck in their tail lights, but this would hardly necessitate three of them. But other than this, I cannot for the life of me figure out what what the heck these capped openings would be for. Does anyone have a clue?

Re: question
Not some kind of drainage if water gets inside the assembly?

Re: question
wrong direction. They face up, not down. Besides the caps are about 3/4" in diameter, much too large for just a drain hole if they WERE facing in the right direction. Look at yours if you get a chance, and you will see what I mean.

Re: question
Now THAT is a distinct possibility, and more likely than my son's suggestion. Having lived overseas a good part of my life, I know that some countries use extra lights in these fixtures, especially for parking. But THREE of them? Still sounds suspect.

Re: question
Yes. Each one is covered with a removable plastic cap. What are they?

Re: question
WHAT?? I have been on ROC for over two years now, and have come to the conclusion that there isn't anything about a Ridgeline that you don't know. I'm not being sarcastic. When was the last time that you couldn't answer a technical question for someone? Don't burst my bubble. I look up to you.
