Dustless Brake Pads?

I put some cheaper O'reilleys pads on my RL last time and the front wheels keep turning black. What type of pads do I need to keep this from happening? And what is the best deal on those pads?

Will these do the trick?

Re: Dustless Brake Pads?

Personally, I prefer to pay a premium for "OEM" pads from a dealer. Over the years, I've realized that any variation on this theme alters the feel and performance of the braking system - for better or worse. You may pay twice as much for pads, but pads aren't (or shouldn't be) something you change often.

Re: Dustless Brake Pads?

Agreed. The ceramic OEM pads are hard to beat for clean operation. Last time I bought pads, it seems it was right around $100 for both front and rear pads, which also included the shims.

Re: Dustless Brake Pads?

The OEM pads are the least dusty pads I've ever owned! I would keep the OEM setup, and buy your parts online if you want to save some money.

Re: Dustless Brake Pads?

I put a set of the Duralast Gold ceramic pads on my truck about 16 months ago. I went with them because they had good ratings and the value seemed to be very good for what they were. They do provide decent stopping power, but, they do dust a bit. The rears are worse than the fronts. For about $20 more per set, you can get the stock pads. IIRC, they're made by Akebono. You can also get them on Rockauto.com. When it comes time for me to replace these pads, I'll go back to the OEM.
